Russia/Ukraine. Politics of history and wars of memory in the European context
This article studies the memory battles of the Russo-Ukrainian war, and places
them within the wider picture of the politics of history as developed in post-independence
Ukraine, and in Putin’s Russian Federation. These strategies are interpreted
within the context of European initiatives designed to build a shared memory,
and in particular within the specific process of refocussing created by the entry of
Eastern European countries into the European Union.
